Obituary

Vassar - William I. Allen, 76, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at his home near Vassar, Kansas. He was born on October 21, 1946, in Peabody, Kansas, the son of Irving and Marjorie (Seibel) Allen.
Bill had lived in Lyndon for many years and had lived near Vassar for the last 20 years.
Bill graduated from Lyndon High School in 1964. He then served in the United States Navy from 196 6 to 197 0 . Bill had worked as a welder and truck driver for most of his life. He was a member of the Lyndon American Legion Post #125 and the NRA.
Bill was married to Kathy Doritty on June 19, 1992 in Lyndon.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy, on September 6, 2021; by his daughter, Carrie Louise Allen; by his parents, Bud and Marjorie; and his sister, Patricia Allen.
Bill is survived by his two sons, Curt Allen of Melvern and Norm Parker of Topeka; his two daughters, Cristie Frye of Olivet and Andrea Schattak of Melvern; his brother, John Allen of Michigan; his two sisters, Jackie Shoblo of Colorado and Judy Murphy of Lyndon; his twenty grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Bill will be held at 7:00pm on Monday, May 22, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until service time at the chapel. Inurnment will be in the Lyndon Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, sent in care of the funeral home.
