Scranton--Dolores Wanda (Richman) Winans, 79, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her home near Scranton, Kansas. She was born on June 30, 1937 in Waterford Township, Michigan, the daughter of Malinda (Martin) Richman and Harold Richman.
Wanda attended Milford Schools and later obtained her GED. She worked as a Medical Assistant and Receptionist for Dr. Robert Durst in Topeka for over 30 years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #2709.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Malinda and Harold; by her son, Edward Hollingdale and five brothers, Chuck Sutton, Harvey Richman, Donald Richmond, Norman Richman and LaVerne Richmond.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Carl F. Winans of the home; her three daughters, Dawn Bigford of Scranton, Carol (John) Dorr of Burlingame, Wendy (David) Robert of Osage City; her daughter-in-law, Annette Hollingdale of Topeka; her two brothers, Delos (Diane) Richmond of Topeka and Gary Richmond of Fountain, Colorado; her sister, Nancy (Eddy) Kline of Burlingame; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Wanda will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4 at the Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship, 430 Commercial St., Carbondale, KS. Burial will follow in the Valley Brook Cemetery south of Overbrook. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3 at the Feltner Funeral Home, 822 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Grace Hospice, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home.
