Michigan Valley - Terry Lynn Mitchell, 73, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at his home near Michigan Valley, Kansas. He was born on July 27, 1950, in Nevada, Missouri, the son of Charles and Betty (Harris) Mitchell.

Terry grew up in Osage City and had lived near Michigan Valley since 1981.

Terry graduated from Osage City High School in 1968 and attended Pittsburg State University for a year. He worked for the State of Kansas and retired as a Director of the Vehicle Department. Terry traveled many miles to watch his grandkids in their sports, being their #1 fan. He was an avid fisherman and raised a bountiful garden every year.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty; and by a brother-in-law, James Jones.

Terry is survived by his two sons, Christopher (Amanda) Mitchell of Leavenworth and Ryan (Tamara) Mitchell of Waverly; his three sisters, Rebecca Jones of Clearwater, Florida, Elaine (Monte) Hicks of LaConnor, Washington, and Linda (Marty) Jones of Osage City; and his two grandchildren, Peyton Mitchell and Olivia Mitchell.

Terry's family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00pm on Thursday, October 12 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon, then will go the Osage City Cemetery for a graveside memorial service.
