Burlingame - Terry Lee Middleton, 77, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, in Osage City, Kansas. He was born on July 16, 1948, in Harlan County, Kentucky, the son of Arthur and Elizabeth Middleton.

Terry never stayed in one place too long as a kid but grew up in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky and Tennessee, where he taught himself to play guitar. He moved to Burlingame in 1980, where he has lived since.

In August of 1966, Terry joined the United States Air Force and served as a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam War. Upon his Honorable Discharge in December of 1969, he spent the next 25 years as a professional musician. In 1995, he earned his bachelor's degree in computer science. After retirement, Terry spent his days gardening, fishing and enjoying life with his family.

On June 1, 1972, Terry was united in marriage, to the love of his life, Vera Graybeal. To this union four children were born, Terry, Jr., Tracy, Stacy and Travis.

Terry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vera on January 24, 2001; by his daughter, Stacy Middleton; and by his parents, Arthur and Elizabeth.

Terry lives on through his two sons, Terry (Chamayn) Middleton, Jr. of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Travis (Bridget) Middleton of Burlingame; by his daughter, Tracy (Arlen) McDaniel of Osage City; by his eight grandchildren, Brogan, Samantha, Robert, Katie, Jaden, Colby, Blake and Lauren; by his great-granddaughter, Harlowe; other relatives and friends.
