Topeka - Terry Russell Fields, 71, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on November 19, 1952, in Onaga, Kansas, the son of Roscoe and Viola (Baker) Fields.

Terry grew up in Onaga and Havensville, had lived in Hot Springs, Arkansas, but had lived in Topeka for over 45 years. He graduated from Onaga High School in 1970.

Terry served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1971 to 1973. He was an officer of the Kansas Highway Patrol for the Capitol Police, Troop K for 33 years until his retirement.

On April 19, 1980, Terry was united in marriage to Teresa Wilkins in Osage City, Kansas.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Viola; and by a brother, Steven Fields.

Terry is survived by his wife, Teresa of 44 years; his son, Paul Fields of Topeka; his two brothers, Richard (Deloras) Fields of Netawaka and Robert Fields of Greeley, Colorado; his grandson, Brian Fields; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Terry will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, July 25 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time on Thursday. Burial will be in the Osage City Cemetery.
