Overbrook - Susan "Susie" Faye Bame, 73, passed away on March 5, 2024, at Brookside Retirement in Overbrook, Kansas. She was born on August 2, 1950, in Gordon, Nebraska, the daughter of Virgil and Trilby (Haddock) Allen.

Susie had lived in Nebraska and Idaho before the family moved to Circleville, Kansas. They moved to Overbrook as Susie entered high school. She graduated from Overbrook High School in 1968. She had lived most of her life in the Overbrook community and had lived in Burlingame the last several years.

Susie worked as a CNA and CMA in nursing homes and worked in medical records at Midland Hospice Care in Topeka for several years. She was baptized in the christian faith.

Susie was united in marriage to James Bame on June 21, 1968, in Carbondale, Kansas. To this union two sons were born, Robert and Michael.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Trilby; her four siblings, Dorothy Timm, Virginia Wirzfeld, Gene Allen and Karen Jarrard.

Susie is survived by her husband, Jim of over 55 years of marriage; her two sons, Robert (Connie) Bame of Topeka and Michael (Melissa) Bame of Lyndon; her brother, Glenn (Belinda) Allen of Mannford, Oklahoma; her sister, Linda (Bob) Beightel of Holton; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Susie will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 9 at the Grace Community Church in Overbrook. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time at the church.
