Obituary

Wichita - Sandra "Sandy" Kay Fike, 65, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026.Sandy was born on February 18, 1961, in Emporia, Kansas, to Philip and Anita Faulkner. She graduated from Lyndon High School and, following graduation, began working for SRS in Burlington, where she helped counsel and support families in need.

On June 13, 1997, Sandy married the love of her life, Tim Fike. Their marriage was truly blessed as they brought together a family of seven children. From that moment on, Sandy devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a wife, mother, and homemaker. Raising her children was her life's greatest calling, and she poured her heart into making sure they were always loved, cared for, and well fed.

When she wasn't preparing meals for her family, Sandy could often be found cheering on the KU Jayhawks or enjoying one of the many game shows she loved to watch. She also enjoyed bowling, a cold Diet Coke, and her Marlboro Light 100s. Sandy had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. She was a loyal friend to everyone she met and had a special place in her heart for animals.

Her greatest joy came later in life when she became "Grandma." She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and embraced that role with endless love and pride. While she had a kind and generous heart, those who knew her also knew not to cross her—she could be, as she often joked, "meaner than a junkyard dog."

Sandy is survived by her devoted husband, Tim Fike; her children, Wayne (Fae), Tina (Randy), Tina (Michael), Levi (Brooke), Lindsey (Ty), Lacey (Colton), and Logan (Miranda); Rita Christiason; her father, Philip (Bernie) Faulkner; her siblings, Evan and Brandi; 18 beloved grandchildren; and one treasured great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Anita Faulkner, and her four grandparents.

Sandy's love, laughter, unwavering devotion to her family, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service for Sandy will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 25 at the Melvern Cemetery. Private family inurnment will follow service.
