Quenemo - Samuel Calvin Watts, 68, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at his home near Quenemo, Kansas. He was born on March 2, 1955, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Earl and Helen (Fields) Watts.

Sam graduated from Quenemo High School in 1973 and had lived all of his life near the Quenemo community.

Sam worked for the city of Quenemo and retired as City Superintendent. He had been a stockman for many years. Sam spent his free time riding motorcycles and horses.

On July 27, 1973, Sam was married to Linda Neill in Quenemo. To this union a daughter was born, Jessica.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen.

Sam is survived by his daughter, Jessica Watts of Quenemo; his two granddaughters, Brinlee Deeter and Aydin Deeter; his ex-wife, Linda Thompson of Vassar; his two stepsons, David Barnes and Jeff Barnes (Khristine); his six step grandchildren, Ashley, Matthew, Gabby, Obree, Baylee, Carter; his ex-wife, Debra Knight; his cousins, Patrick (Tina) McComb and Arlin (Jo Lynn) Fields; and his friends, Kenny (Juanita) Adams, Danny Cochran and Cathy Wilson.

A memorial graveside service for Sam will be held on Sunday, September 24th at 2:00pm at the Oak Hill Cemetery at Quenemo. Memorial contributions in memory of Sam may be made to Johnson Cancer Research Fund (Kansas State University Foundation).
