Osage City - Ruth Elaine Barnhart, 97, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Osage Nursing Center in Osage City, Kansas. She was born on December 6, 1926, on the family farm west of Lyndon, the daughter of Henry and Eva (Jessop) Bell.

Ruth had lived most of her life in Lyndon, had lived in Arizona after retirement and then had returned to Lyndon and Osage City.

Ruth had worked for Seymour Foods and then Martin Tractor, both in Topeka.

Ruth was united in marriage to Herbert Barnhart on June 15, 1952 in Topeka. To this union two sons were born, Lee and Randy.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Herb; her two sons, Lee and Randy; a grandson, Chad Barnhart; her parents, Henry and Eva; and by her brother, James Bell.

Ruth is survived by her sister, Doris Siegel; her three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

As per her wishes, Ruth will be cremated, no services are planned. Inurnment will be in the Lyndon Cemetery, next to Lee and Randy.
