Topeka - Rudolph "Rudy" James Rottler, Jr., 73, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Plaza West Healthcare in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on August 8, 1950, in Arnold, Missouri, the son of Rudolph and Virginia (Brown) Rottler, Sr.
Rudy graduated from Crystal City High School in 1968, then studied engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla, where he was also involved in the ROTC Program.
Rudy worked as an engineer at the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corp. near Burlington, for over 25 years, until his retirement. He was a member of the Michigan Valley Community Church near Lake Pomona, the Lyndon Lions Club and volunteered at Help House in Lyndon.
Rudy was married to Savannah Adkison on January 1, 2000 at the Michigan Valley Community Church.
Rudy is survived by his wife Savannah, of the home; her children, Charlene Esquibel of Topeka and Paul Brown of Topeka; his three sons, Trevis (Elise) Rottler of Overland Park, Nathan (Kristina) Rottler of Auburn and Adam (Kaleigh) Rottler of Waverly; his two brothers, Robert (Patti) Rottler of Illinois and Benjamin (LaJune) Rottler of St. Genevieve, Missouri; his sister, Barbara (Richard) Hensley of DeSoto, Missouri; his fourteen grandchildren, Taylor, Emmery, Kai, Bradyn, Rylan, Liam, ALice, Rowan, Genevieve, Andre, DeSzaniece, De'Anna, Carlos, Jr. and Charae; and his two great grandchildren, Hadley and Haven Hayes.
Funeral services for Rudy will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 7, at the Michigan Valley Community Church (northeast of the Pomona Lake Dam). The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time on Tuesday. Cremation will follow the services. Memorial contributions in memory of Rudy may be made to the Rudy Rottler Memorial Fund, to be designated later, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
