Obituary

Lyndon--Ruby Lewis, 91, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at her home in Lyndon, Kansas. She was born on March 19, 1928 in Branson, Missouri, the oldest daughter of Oscar and Francis Beckwith Rhamy.
Ruby had lived in southern Nebraska before moving to Lyndon, where she has lived for the last 60 years.
Ruby was a Homemaker and then worked as a clerk in the Lyndon Post Office. She then worked at the distribution center in Topeka and then became Post Mistress at Leroy and then Scranton Post Offices. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church and its JOY (Just Older Youth) Club.
On September 5, 1948, Ruby was married to the Rev. Carl Lewis in Argonia, Kansas.
Ruby was preceded in death by Carl on December 26, 1988; by her parents, Oscar and Francis; and by three sisters, Margie Lee Goodman, Marcella Foltz and Rosella Baker.
Ruby is survived by her two sons, Richard Lewis (Charlene) and Bob Lewis (Kathy), both of Olathe; her two daughters, Carlene Reed (John) of Osage City and Beverly Rose (William) of Lyndon; her sister, Roberta Shumate of Newton; nine grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Ruby's life will be at 11:00am on Friday, June 14 at Grace Point Church in Topeka. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Thursday at Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon and then one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be in the Lyndon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Oklahoma Wesleyan University, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
