Obituary

Ottawa - "Cowboy Roy" Wagoner, 63, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born on November 20, 1961, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, the son of Gale and Verna (Johnson) Wagoner.

Roy had lived in several towns around the area but had been in Ottawa and the surrounding area for many years.

Roy was a Bus Driver for USD 290, Ottawa for the last 12 years, had been a Trail Ride Instructor in the Branson, Missouri area, a home builder and a truck driver. He had served in the Army National Guard from 1978 to 1982. He enjoyed being a part of benefit motorcycle rides and anything that had to do with school functions.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Gale and Verna.

Roy is survived by his partner, Sandy Gilliam; his five "kids", Jason (Callie) Moore, Aarron Moore, Heather (Yadira) Cruz-Moore, Corey Moore, and Ryan Moore; a step daughter, Rhonda Foltz; his two sisters, Raylene (Steve) Brecheisen and Sherry (Bub) Cooper; his eight grandchildren, Winter Moore, Kaine Moore, Gabriel Moore, Makaila Moore, Madison Moore, Talia Nicholson-Moore, Emily Moore and the youngest, his partner in crime, Leilani Nicholson-Moore; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral services for Roy will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 21 at the Mt. Pleasant Community Church southeast of Lyndon (26075 S Berryton Rd, Lyndon, KS 66451. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Pomona.

A Celebration of Life for Roy will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, June 7 at the Sunflower School (1325 Falcon Way St. Ottawa, KS.

Memorial contributions for Roy may be made to the Cowboy Roy Memorial Fund, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
