Roger W. Hotchkiss, 86, passed away Tuesday, December 2,2014 at his home in Melvern. He was born March 26, 1928 in Melvern, the son of Crayton and Mabel Heilmann Hotchkiss.

Roger had lived most of his life in the Melvern community, having graduated from Melvern Rural High School in 1945. He had worked as a Maintenance Techician for DuPont in Topeka until his retirement. He was a member of the Masons and Shriners.

On April 9, 1971,Roger was married to Olive Bridges in Melvern.

Roger is survived by his wife Olive of the home; his three sons, Steve of Olivet, Ks., Ritchie and Dennis, both of Lakeland, FL.; his three daughters, Ruth Farwell of K.C.,Ks., Mackie Jamison of Waverly, Ks., and Tina Hotchkiss of Hays,Ks.; his sister, Mary Ree Miller of Melvern,Ks.; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Roger will be at 10:30 a.m. On Monday, December 8 at the Melvern United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church in Melvern.
