Roderick "Rod" Anderson, 75, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, KS. He was born May 29, 1939 in Lawrence, KS. The son of Roy and Minnie Tranuse Anderson.
Rod grew up in Lawrence and lived in or near the Carbondale area for over 40 years.
Rod attended Lawrence High School and served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. He worked for the Lawrence Paper Company, managed the Quality Oil Station and was a truck driver for Capital City Oil, both in Topeka. Rod was a member of the Outcast Car Club.
On August 21, 1959 Rod was married to Mary Nicolay in Lawrence. To this union three children were born.
Rod was preceded in death by his wife Mary on August 10,2011 and by a daughter, Tiffiny Harper on November 30, 2008.
Rod is survived by his two children, Darren Anderson of Topeka and Sherridyn Fowler (Ron) of Lawrence; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Rod will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 29 at the Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time.
