Lyndon--Robert L. Klofkorn, 72, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born on January 13, 1943 in Caldwell, Kansas, the son of Ivan and Katherine O'Meara Klofkorn.
Bob graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1961. He served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965. He was a member of the Topeka Bowhunters Association.
Bob had lived in Owasso, Oklahoma and worked as a Lathe Operator in an Aircraft Plant. In Parsons, Kansas he was in Quality Control at an Ammunition Plant. He worked with the ROTC at Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford. He moved to Lyndon in 1978 where he worked for the Corps of Engineers at Lake Pomona, then at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant near Desoto and finally as a Security Guard inTopeka.
On January 7, 1967 Bob was married to Jeanette Nance in Independence, Kansas.
Bob is survived by his wife Jeanette of the home; his son, Dakota Klofkorn of Osage City; his two daughters, Darci Witte of Garnett and Sonnet Jackson of Azle, Texas; his two sisters, Sandy Harrison of Hermiston, Oregon and Donna Gilchrist of Independence; and four grandchildren.
Private family graveside services will be held. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Sunday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Midland Hospice or the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Transplant Fund, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS. 66451.
