Melvern--Rick D. Arb, 60 passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on January 21, 1959 in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Earl Dean and Pauline (Mason) Arb.

Rick spent all of his life in the Melvern Community. He attended the Melvern Schools, graduating in 1977. He was in the trucking business until he became disabled due to an injury. He attended True Grace Community Church and the Church of God in Melvern.

Rick was married to Sonia Hurt, they later divorced. They had two children together, Crystal and Jeffery.

Rick was preceded in death by his infant son, Jeffery Dean Arb; by his parents, Earl Dean and Pauline Arb; and by his grandparents, Earl E. and Mary Arb and Henry and Carrie Mason.

Rick is survived by his daughter, Crystal of Stockton, Missouri; his sister, Deanna (Mark) Heilmann of Topeka; his two granddaughters, Angelina "Angel" and Aurora of Stockman, Missouri; his two nieces, Mandi Adams and Tara Habiger; his nephew, Brandon Heilmann; three great nieces; one great nephew; his very dear and faithful friend, Jackie Mercer; and his faithful canine companion, Chick, AKA "Fat Girl" of Melvern.

Funeral services for Rick will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 25 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time. Burial will be in the Melvern Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Melvern Community Center, sent in care of the funeral home.
