Obituary

Urbana, Missouri--Richard Eugene Traphagan, 59, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019 at his home in Urbana, Missouri. He was born on October 4, 1959 in Topeka, Kansas the son of William Traphagan and Ivadel Woodyard Martin.
Richard grew up in the Scranton area and attended Santa Fe Trail High School. He later moved to Baxter Springs, Kansas and had lived in Urbana for the past five years.
Richard worked for Dick Edwards, Jasper Foods and Ozark Salad Co. He proudly served in Lions Club, enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He always enjoyed a good joke, of which he had an endless supply, and always enjoyed listening to his uncles sing gospel music.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ivadel; a brother, Roy Traphagan; and a nephew, Chris Traphagan.
Richard is survived by his two daughters, Amanda Kendall and husband Anthony of Formoso and Holly Gonzalez and husband Daniel of Leavenworth; his seven grandchildren, Tristyn, Avery, Latoya, Samara, Anthony, Jr., Thoryn and Alyce; his two granddogs, Kashi and Kara; his two brothers, Gary Traphagan and wife Michele and John Martin, all of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his sister, Melissa Traphagan of Topeka; and a host of other beloved family members and friends.
Funeral services for Richard will be at 2:00pm on Friday, June 7 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Family will receive friends a half hour before services. Burial will be in the Alpine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard Traphagan Memorial Fund, to go to funeral expenses, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
