Carbondale - Richard Roy Richardson, 88, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Midland Hospice Care in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on August 16, 1933, in Mosby, Missouri, the only child of Roy and Martha (Beard) Richardson.

Richard had lived in Topeka and then in Carbondale for the last 40 years.

Richard served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956 and served aboard the USS Harwood. He then worked as a Union Iron Worker for Local #10 in Topeka.

Richard was united in marriage to Brenda Biesemeyer on June 5, 1978, in Topeka, Kansas. Brenda preceded Richard in death on August 28, 2021.

Richard was also preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Martha

Richard is survived by his five children, John Graham of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Ronna Richardson of Pyatt, Arkansas, Kevin Richardson of Burlingame, Mark Jackson of Marion, Ohio and George Richardson of Joplin, Missouri; ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Richard will be held at 10:30am on Friday, February 25 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon.  Burial will be in the Carbondale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope In The Valley Equine Rescue, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451. Military honors will be rendered by the US Navy.
