Lyndon--Richard Marl Nehrbass, 71, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on July 13, 1943 in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Marl and Fredia Watson Nehrbass.
Richard grew up in Lawrence and had lived in eastern Colorado and western Kansas over the years. He had lived in Lyndon for the last 12 years.
Richard graduated from Lawrence High School in 1961. He farmed and ranched most of his life. He served in the Kansas National Guard and served one tour in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 with the 101st Airborne as a mortarman.
Richard was married to Kathryn Roberts on September 29, 1967 in Lawrence. To this union four children were born.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bob Nehrbass; and one sister, Gypsy Dean.
Richard is survived by his four children, Ursula (Dave) Nichols of Lawrence, Heidi (David) Gillette of Lawrence, Wendy (Martin) Feltner of Lyndon and Cody Nehrbass of Lawrence; his sister, Pat (Dick) Green of Columbia, MO.; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Richard will be at 11:00 am on Friday, March 6 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
