Ottawa--Richard Marquis, 57, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at the Ottawa Retirement Village. He was born on November 1, 1958 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Jerry and Eileen Tevis Marquis.

Richard grew up in Canton, Illinois and had lived in Hayden, Colorado before moving to Ottawa. He had worked as a Hunting and Fishing Guide in Canton and Hayden and had worked for Havens Steel and Select Steel in Ottawa as a welder.

Richard is survived by his four children, Dusty Marquis of Pomona, Carlie Marquis of Arizona, Jason Marquis of Ottawa and Keith Marquis of Florida; his parents, Jerry and Eileen Marquis of Vassar; a brother, Tony Marquis; and a sister, Jeri D. O'Brien, both of Canton, Illinois; and three grandchildren.

Richard was cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard Marquis Memorial Fund to be used for the Dusty Marquis educational fund, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS, 66451.
