Osage City--Richard Lee Estes, 57, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at his home near Osage City, Kansas after an extended illness. He was born on May 19, 1958 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Billy and Mary Lou Hendrickson Estes.
Rich had lived in Topeka and Tennessee until returning to Osage City where he has lived for most of his life.
Rich graduated from Union City High School in Tennessee in 1976. He worked at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Ottawa as a Forklift Operator for 19 years where he received numerous awards. He also farmed and raised cattle. Rich had grown up in 4-H and was a member of the Lions Club and Eagles in Osage City.
On November 19, 1995 Rich was married to Nancy Jo Emperley in Osage City.
Rich was preceded in death by his Dad, Billy on November 15, 2014.
Rich is survived by his wife Nancy of Osage City; his children, Courtney (Moises) Martinez and CJ Estes of Osage City, Cody (Christina) Rich of Topeka and Brandy (Eric) Ortiz of Corpus Christi, Texas; his mother, Mary Lou of Osage City; his brother Ron (Susan) Estes of Wichita; his sister, Glenda Estes of Emporia; nine grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Memorial services for Rich will be a 10:00am on Monday, November 23 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
