Obituary

Pauline Winifred (Rhoades) Davis of Overbrook went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 1, 2021 at Rock Creek Long Term Care Facility in Ottawa, Ks.

A family visitation will be held at 10:00a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00a.n. on Monday, June 7 th , 2021 at Grace Community Church in Overbrook. Interment is for Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Williamsburg, Ks at 2:30p.m.

Pauline was born in Devon, Kansas on March 16, 1926. She was the daughter of William Harold and Bertha (Killion) Rhoades.

She grew up in Ft. Scott and Richmond, Kansas areas.

Pauline was united in marriage to Paul Robert Davis on August 18, 1946 at Mt. Olivet Church, Williamsburg, Ks. They had 69 years of marriage before his death on November 15, 2015.

Pauline and Paul lived for a short time at Wellsville, Ks and Williamsburg, Ks., where they farmed. In the 60's they moved with their four children southeast of Overbrook where they had a large dairy and farmed. The family moved in 1967 to Muskogee, Oklahoma onto the Bacone College campus where Pauline and Paul were employed by Murrow Indian Children's Home as foster parents. In the 70's Pauline and Paul moved back to Paul's family farm at Williamsburg where they raised livestock and farmed. They returned to Overbrook in 1987 where they retired.

Pauline was extremely involved in the child foster care system and she and Paul fostered many children.

Survivors include their four children, Janet Donnelly and husband Dennis of Overbrook, Roger Davis and wife Kim of Afton Grand Lake, Ok; Harold Davis and wife Karon of Basehor, Ks.; Paula Smith and husband Doug of Williamsburg, Ks.; Twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Her sister-in-law Pauline Geiss of Ottawa, Ks. And many nieces and nephews.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Harold and Donald Rhoades and one foster son Malvin Dorsey.

She was a member of Grace Community Church of Overbrook.
