Waverly — Patty Sue Pegram, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Life Care Center in Burlington, Kansas. She was born on March 15, 1940, in Quenemo, Kansas, to Alfred and Ellen (Rendell) Meiers.

Patty grew up in Quenemo and called it home for most of her life before moving to Waverly in 2006. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, Patty poured her heart into caring for her family and serving her community. Over the years, she worked at Falley's in Topeka, shared her talents as a seamstress for neighbors and friends, cooked meals for countless students at Quenemo Grade School, and later became a beloved paraprofessional at the school. Patty also gave back by serving on the Oak Hill Cemetery Board and proudly holding the office of mayor of Quenemo.

On February 8, 1957, Patty married the love of her life, Calvin Pegram, in Quenemo. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. They were blessed with four children: Steve, Tim, Pam, and Jill.

Patty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Calvin, in 2017; her parents, Alfred and Ellen; her brothers, John, Bill, and Tom; and her great-grandson, Garrett Rice.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Steve (Ronda) Pegram of Silver Lake; Tim Pegram of Waverly; Pam (Jerry) Rice of Waverly; and Jill (Scott) Stevenson of Vassar. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Mary Louise Raney of Buffalo, Missouri, and Minnie Rose of Ottawa; her twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many dear relatives and friends.

A celebration of Patty's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, at Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Family and friends are invited to gather from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service to share memories and support one another. Inurnment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.
