Patricia Ann Smith's Obituary
Topeka - Patricia Ann Smith, 79, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas. Patricia was born on November 27, 1943, in Harvey, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas and Winifred (Austin) Parsons.
She grew up in Blue Island, Illinois and graduated from St. Benedict Grade School and from St. Francis Academy in Joliet, IL.
She was a former nun in the order of the Sisters of St. Mary.
Patricia married the late Grant Smith in 1966 in Chicago, Illinois. They later divorced.
Patricia worked as a dietary and nurse's aide in the Topeka area for many years.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.
Patricia is survived by her son, William Smith of Florida; her daughter, Alice Smith (Andrew Truelson) of Carbondale; her brother, Thomas L. Parsons of Arizona; her six grandchildren, Ashli (Brandon) Morett, Taylor Ostrander, Jacob Ostrander, Gillian Smith, Olivia Truelson, and Carson Smith; and her great-granddaughter, Indiana Morett. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Private family services will be held at the Carbondale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carbondale Library, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
