Osage City--Norman Earl Wright, 88, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Diversicare in Council Grove, Kansas.  He was born on October 9, 1928 in Osage City, Kansas, the son of Louis and Minnie Pearce Wright.
Norman had lived most of his life in Osage City.
Norman graduated from Osage City High School and served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953.  He had worked for his father as a painter and also in the local coal mines.  After his Army service, he worked for the Goodyear Tire Company in Topeka.  He was a Carpenter and built many homes in Osage City, he had also worked for the Soil Conservation Service.  He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a 60 year member of the American Legion Post, all in Osage City.
On December 14, 1950 Norman was married to Janice Martin in Osage City.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Minnie; his five brothers, and three sisters.
Norman is survived by his wife Janice of over 65 years; his son John Wright and fiancée Tina Marie Tentori of Phoenix, Arizona; his daughter, Pamela May and husband Aaron of Osage City; his sister, Nadine Archer of Olathe; his three grandchildren, Courtney May of Osage City, Bryan May and wife Megan of Harveyville and Tatum Wright of Phoenix, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Norman will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 22 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 until service time.  Inurnment will be in the Osage City Cemetery with Military Honors.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Norman Wright Memorial Fund, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
