Overbrook--Norman "Node" Gerisch, 95, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on July 7, 1923 in Richland, Kansas, the son of Charles and Kathrine Sheetz Gerisch.
Norman lived most of his life around the Richland and Overbrook communities. He was a farmer all of his life and also was a dozer operator in construction. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Richland and Overbrook for 74 years and the Arab Shrine for many years.
On March 28, 1948, Norman was married to Ellen Rice in Topeka.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife Ellen on December 28, 1991; his son, Douglas Gerisch on February 25, 2016; his parents, Charles and Kathrine; his brother, Ed Gerisch; and his two sisters, Ester Moore and Loretta Martin.
Norman is survived by his daughter, Karla Gerisch; three grandsons, Neil Gerisch, Keith Gerisch and Nathan Gerisch; and two great-granddaughters, Athena Gerisch and Selene Gerisch.
Memorial services for Norman will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 2 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be in the Valley Brook Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions to Shriner's Hospital, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
