Nancy lived a short time in Burlingame before moving to Riverton, Wyoming, where she graduated from high school. She had also lived in Colorado before moving back to Burlingame 12 years ago.

Nancy had worked in the hotel industry and clerked in convenience stores.

Nancy was married to David Hollis, they later divorced.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and 13 siblings.

Nancy is survived by her son, Cameron Hollis of Burlingame; by her daughter, Chandra Hollis of Arvada, Colorado; by her grandson, Gideon Mason Smith of Arvada, Colorado; her eight siblings, Robert (Dolly) Griffin of Lawrence, Guthrie Dale (Joan) Griffin of Olivet, Julia Traphagan of Burlingame, Stephen (Cathy) Griffin of Osage City, Thelma "Liz" (Dennis) Johnson of Carbondale, Paula (John) Clark of Belle Plaine, Hattie (Randy) Fleak of Burlingame and Timothy (Kylin) Griffin of Burlingame.
