Obituary

Lyndon - Myron Charles Lutze, 85, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at the St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on May 4, 1937, in Racine, Wisconsin, the son of Claude and Gladys (Vanmarter) Lutze.
Pete, as he was known, grew up in Wisconsin and had lived in Tucson, Arizona before moving to Lyndon, where he had lived for over 45 years.
Pete served in the United States Air Force and retired after 22 years of service at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He then worked in Security at the Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant near Burlington and retired as a supervisor after 25 years.
On January 29, 1960, Pete was united in marriage to Janette Thornbrugh in Williamsburg, Kansas. To this union two sons were born, Mike and Steve.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Gladys; by an infant brother, Sonny; and by two sisters, Ethel and Iva Jean.
Pete is survived by his wife, Jan of nearly 63 years; his two sons, Mike Lutze of Lawrence and Steve (Tammy) Lutze of Ozawkie; his two brothers, Bill Lutze of Killeen, Texas and Jim Lutze of Portland, Oregon; his sister, Sally Potts of Henderson, Kentucky; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside memorial services for Pete and Jan will be at 10:00am on Saturday, February 11, at the Woodlawn Cemetery at Pomona, Kansas.
