Melville "Hotch" Hanna's Obituary
Lyndon - Melville "Hotch" Hanna, 89, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at his home in Lyndon, Kansas. He was born on December 23, 1932, in St. Joseph, Missouri, the son of Mel and Emma (Stutz) Hanna.
Hotch's parents moved to Lyndon in 1934 when he was 17 months old, and he has lived most of his life in Lyndon.
Hotch graduated from Lyndon High School in 1951 and started working for the Supply Depot at Forbes Field in Topeka. He then served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 with the 4th Infantry Division in Germany. After his discharge, he came back to the Supply Depot for three years until he went to welding trade school. He worked as a welder for
Ornamental Iron and Step Company for
11 years until starting with Martin Tractor in Topeka in 1969, until he retired in 1994. Hotch was a member of the Lyndon American Legion Post #125 and the VFW #6406.
On September 25, 1959, Hotch was united in marriage to Betty Jean Hinton in Clinton, Kansas. To this union three sons were born, Hotch Jay, Terry Lee and Michael Wayne.
Hotch was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, on June 14, 201

; and his parents, Mel and Emma.
Hotch is survived by his three sons,

Jay (Ann) Hanna of Navarre, Florida, Terry (Twila) Hanna of Lyndon and Michael (Laura) Hanna of Vassar; and his four grandchildren, Aaron, Tyler
(Sarah)
, Alicia and Lucas.
Funeral services for Hotch will be held at 10:00a.m. on Monday, November 28 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00pm on Sunday, November 27 at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Lyndon Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions for Hotch may be made to the Lyndon Carnegie Library, Elara Caring or the Lyndon Alumni Association, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
