Burlington - Matthew Allen Hansen, 64, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on April 2, 1962, at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Paul and Delores (Noble) Hansen.

Matt had grown up near Melvern and graduated from Marais des Cygnes Valley High School. He had lived in Burlington for most of his adult life.

Matt had worked as a carpenter throughout his life.

Matt was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Delores; by two infant brothers, Howard Hansen and Andrew Hansen; and by a nephew, Kyle Robb.

Matt is survived by his sister, Kathy (Rick) Robb of Melvern; by his two brothers, Mark (Tracey) Hansen of Quenemo and Doug (Annette) Hansen of Topeka; and by several nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Sutton Cemetery, north of Melvern. Memorial contributions in memory of Matt may be made to the Matthew Hansen Memorial Fund, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
