Melvern-MaryRee Miller, 85, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Atria Hearthstone in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on November 3, 1933 on the family farm east of Melvern, the daughter of Crayton and Mabel Heilman Hotchkiss.
MaryRee had lived all of her life in the Melvern community and had lived in Topeka for the last 8 months.
MaryRee was a Homemaker and had owned Miller Lumber with her husband in Melvern. She was a member of the Melvern United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
MaryRee was married to Gerald "Burley" Miller on October 21, 1950 in Melvern.
MaryRee was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, on May 4, 1992; and her son, James Dean Miller on June 22, 1991.
MaryRee is survived by her son, Michael (Jill) Miller, Sr. of Topeka; her daughter, Lee Ann (Richard) Freed of Topeka; six grandchildren, Michael, Jr., Crystal, Megan, Jason, Jake and Angel; and three great-grandchildren, Ziva, Di'on and Cody.
Memorial services for MaryRee will be at 3:00pm on Friday, December 7, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Pleasant View Cemetery east of Melvern.
