Osage City - Marvin Jay Keller, 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, in Osage City, Kansas. He was born on January 6, 1946, in Reading, Kansas, the son of Charles and Marie (VanSickle) Keller.

Marvin grew up in Reading, KS. He attended Reading Schools.  He was very active in the Reading Lions Athletic Programs. He played basketball, baseball and went out for track. His team won the Lyon County League Tournament in 1964. His nickname was "Maverick". He graduated from Reading in 1964.

Marvin was a businessman. He managed the first KFC in Emporia for over 8 years. He also earned the "White Glove" Award and was presented his award personally by Colonel Harland Sanders. He also delivered milk for Jones Dairy in Osage City and was the proud owner and operator of the Giant Drive-In in Lyndon for 17 years, doing catering also. He opened and operated the Sharmar, a motel in Osage City for 9 years. He also had been a member of the Osage City Jaycees.

On October 2, 1964, Marvin was united in marriage to Sherry Zink at Emporia. To this union three daughters were born, Teresa, Michelle and Amie'.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie; and by his three brothers, Charles, Roger and twin, Melvin.

Marvin is survived by his wife Sherry of over 60 years; his three daughters, Teresa (Kevin) Carson, Michelle (Neil) Plinsky and Amie' (Tyler) Parsons, all of Osage City; his eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Marvin will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 17, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00pm on Monday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Osage City Cemetery at a later date.
