Melvern--Marvin C. Bartlett, 73, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on June 5, 1944 in Burlington Junction, Missouri, the son of Garland and Elizabeth Brandon Bartlett.
Marvin had grown up in Northwest Missouri and had lived in Topeka for several years before moving to Melvern in 1972.
Marvin served with the United States Army in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969. He had worked most of his life as an over the road Truck Driver.
On January 18, 1964 Marvin married Linda Meyer in Maryville, Missouri.
Marvin was preceded in death by his two sons, Donald Bartlett on August 2, 1964 and Dwayne Bartlett on April 28, 1989.
Marvin is survived by his wife Linda of the home; his two daughters, Melinda Reece of Melvern and Heather Bartlett of Emporia; his five siblings, Darrell Bartlett of Wamego, Shirley McClain of Maryville, Missouri, Carol McHugh of Maitland, Missouri, Daniel Bartlett of Burlington Junction, Missouri and Marylin Goddard of Colgate, Oklahoma; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Marvin will be at 10:30am on Monday, July 24 at the Melvern Church of God. Burial will be in the Melvern Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Sunday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon.
