Obituary

Marvin W. Allen,89, of Michigan Valley passed away Tuesday December 23,2014.
Born November 19,1925 at Anisworth, Nebraska the son of William Jackson and Ada L. DayWitt Allen. Marvin attended schools in Brown County, Nebraska, graduating from Johnstown High in 1943. In the 1940's he loved to play the guitar with family members at Saturday night dances. He worked as a mechanic at the Ford Garage and Kennedy Equipment Co., both of Anisworth Nebraska, and farmed for many years as well. He served in the Army Air Corp during WW l l participating in the Occupation of Japan. In the 50's he became a member of Operating Engineers Union, and was employed for many years as a heavy equipment mechanic for, List and Clark and Mid-West Pre-Cote, both of Kansas City. In later years he was self-employed in the sandblasting business. He loved to restore old antique cars and tractors and for many years participated in antique tractor pulls.
On Februray 13, 1949 Marvin was married to Twyla Sheppard in Anisworth, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on November 16, 1997.
Marvin is survived bu three sons; Lynn Allen, Forrest Allen, Brad (Marilyn) Allen; a daughter Melody (Terry) Hoffsommer. 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. A brother Rhae Allen of Monet, Missouri and a sister Erma Hatch of Julesburg, Colorado.
A visitation is planned for 3:00p.m. Monday December 29,2014 for friends and family at the Feltner Funeral Chapel at 820 Topeka Ave. Lyndon,KS.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. or the Helping Hands Humane Society and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home 818 Topeka Ave. Lyndon, KS. 66451.
