Obituary

Pomona--Marilyn Miller, 81, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Ottawa Retirement Village In Ottawa, Kansas. She was born on August 16, 1935 in Garnett, Kansas the daughter of Hubert "Slim" Feuerborn and Maude Bowman.
Marilyn grew up in Garnett, had lived in Ottawa, Vassar and Pomona.
She graduated from Ottawa High School and worked for the Postal Service for 23 years and she was the Postmistress in Pomona until she retired in 1992. She was a member of the PTA and Booster Club in Pomona. A member of NAPUS, she was N.E. District President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer and State Editor. She was one of four original founders of the Don Marrs Cancer Research Scholarship at Kansas State University and a past member of the Ottawa Business and Professional Women Organization.
Marilyn married Melvin Miller on September 12, 1953, they later divorced. She married Jim Eichinger on October 19, 1992, he preceded her in death on September 13, 2010.
Marilyn was also preceded in death by her parents, by two brothers, Denis Feuerborn and Raymond Feuerborn and by two sisters, Maxine Russell and Doris Cleveland and a grandson, Matt Soper.
Marilyn is survived by her two sons, Curtis (Susan) Miller of Overbrook and Mark (Tracie) Miller of Pomona; her three daughters, Marcy (Joe) Soper of Quenemo, Janie (Stan) Dillon of Ottawa and Debbie (Charlie) Reno of Pomona; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Graveside services for Marilyn will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 10 at the Woodlawn Cemetery at Pomona. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00pm on Tuesday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pomona United Methodist Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
