Osage City--Marilyn Ren ée Giesy, 81, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on July 1, 1939 in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Jules and Leea (Corley) Martin.

Marilyn grew up in Burlington where she graduated from Burlington High School in 1957. She had lived in Osage City since 1968.

Marilyn was a Homemaker and a member of the Osage City United Methodist Church. She had been involved in many organizations and groups throughout the years.

On June 23, 1957, Marilyn was united in marriage to Jerry Giesy in Burlington, Kansas. To this union three children were born, Steve, Brian and Ren é e .

Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Ren é e Reece on March 12, 2009; by her parents, Jules and Leea; and her sister, Julene Lownie.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Jerry of 63 years; her two sons, Steve (Michelle) Giesy and Brian (Marilyn) Giesy, all of Osage City; her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Marilyn will be at 11:00am on Monday, March 1, 2021 at the Osage City United Methodist Church. Seating will be done with social distancing in mind. Burial will be in the Osage City Cemetery. Marilyn will lie in state at the church on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00pm and the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
