Marie Anne Laue, 86, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Osage City Nursing Center. She was born on August 10, 1928 on the family farm near Vassar, the daughter of R.C. Bauck and Elsa Peimann Bauck.
Marie grew up near Vassar and had lived in Overland Park for over 30 years before moving to Osage City.
Marie graduated from Lyndon High School and attended the Clark Business School in Topeka. She had worked for U.P.S. As an Accounts Clerk for over 20 years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar and the Bethany Lutheran Church in Overland Park.
Marie was married to Harold Persinger on December 14, 1947, they later divorced. She married Walter Laue on October 14, 1966.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Walter on August 19, 1974; by a son, Kirby L. Persinger on June 24,1999; and by one brother, Harlan Bauck.
Marie is survived by two sons, Keith L. (Nancy) Persinger of Vassar and Kelly L. (Karen) Persinger of Atchison; two daughters, Kathy L. (Kenny) Allison of Lyndon and Karen L. Kidd of Overland Park; a step-daughter, Nancy (Terry) Scheuerman of Topeka; two brothers Glenn (Velma) Bauck and Ruben (Hedy) Bauck, all of Vassar; eleven grandchildren, one step-grandchild and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Marie will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 29 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar. Burial will be in the Vassar Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association, sent in care of the funeral home.
