Obituary

Lyndon--Marguerite (Beatty) Gray, 99, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Osage Nursing Center in Osage City, Kansas. She was born on May 1, 1917 in Lyndon, Kansas the daughter of Carl and Vesta Burkdoll Beatty.

Marguerite grew up in Lyndon, had lived in Wichita and Chicago before moving back to Lyndon.

Marguerite worked in the aircraft plants in Wichita during World War II and then worked as a waitress and restaurant manager most of her life.

On September 23, 1982 Marguerite was married to Tom Gray in Chicago, IL.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband Tom; by her parents, Carl and Vesta; by a step daughter, Patricia Grzybowski; two brothers, Noble Beatty and Clayton Beatty; and by two sisters, Ferne Beal and Hazel Christiason.

Marguerite is survived by her step daughter, Barbara Gray of Ft. Myers, FL.; her brother, Charles (Viola) Beatty of Lyndon; her sister, Virginia Kersten of Lyndon; her step granddaughter, Michelle Wilcox and her God child, Debbie Spears.

Funeral service for Marguerite will be at 10:30am on Thursday, June 30 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Lyndon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the Flint Hills, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
