Obituary

Osage City - Lynda Lee Prost, 62, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on April 25, 1960, in Escondido, California, the daughter of William and Martha (Jacobs) Gilchrist.
Lynda had lived in California and Topeka for a time, but had spent most of her life in the Osage City community.
Lynda was the Rodeo Queen of the Burlingame Rodeo in 1975 and then graduated from Osage City High School in 1978. She moved to Topeka and worked at Ohse Meats for several years. She worked at Pizza Hut in Osage City, ran her own daycare, was an assistant to Dr. Murray in Lyndon, and then worked as a clerk at the Lyndon City Hall.
Lynda was married to Jay Wilson on June 16, 1990, they later divorced. She married Jeff Prost on February 12, 2011, in Pomona.
Lynda was preceded in death by her father, William and by her mother and stepfather, Martha and Kenneth Butterfield.
Lynda is survived by her husband, Jeff of the home; her son, James Eric Wilson of Chicago, Illinois; her daughter, Hope E. Wilson (Lu) of Kansas City, Missouri; her brother, Clifford (Donna) Butterfield of Osage City; and her sister, Dee Ann (Michael) Hurla of Maple Hill.
A Celebration of Life for Lynda will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 22 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to service time Thursday. Inurnment will be in the Osage City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Lynda Prost Memorial Fund to be designated later. The family also welcomes people to wear a bright, pop of color to the service, as Lynda would enjoy it immensely. Online condolences for the family may be left at feltnerfuneralhome.com .
