Waverly - Louis Robert Madden III, 27, of Waverly, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, near Melvern, Kansas. He was born on August 23, 1997, in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Louis and Amber (George) Madden, Jr.

Louis grew up in Melvern and graduated from Marais de Cygnes Valley High School in 2016. After graduating, he attended Kansas University for a short time before entering the workforce.

Louis had worked at Asphalt Sales in Kansas City for six years before becoming Plant Operator for Bettis Asphalt in Topeka. He was very proud of his accomplishments in the industry.

On December 3, 2021, Louis was married to Kylie Hughes in Hawaii. To this union, two children were born, Louis IV and Libby- who were the light of his life. They made their family home in Waverly where he had lived for the last five years.

Louis was preceded in death by his dad, Louis Jr.

Louis is survived by his wife, Kylie of the home; his two children, Louis and Libby of the home; his mother, Amber George of Pond Creek OK; his brother, Aidan Rodecap of Pond Creek, Oklahoma; his three sisters, Britney George (Austin Metcalfe) of Enid, Oklahoma, Jocelyn Rodecap of Pond Creek, Oklahoma and Felicity Rose-Thomas of Lawrence; his father figure, Jason Rodecap; Brother- in- law, Adam Bean; Sister- in-law, Savannah Bean; Brother-in-law, Grayson Hughes; Father and Mother-in-law, Jeremy and Dannell Hughes, of Waverly; his maternal grandmother, Geny Welliver of Sabetha; his maternal grandfather, Robert George of Oskaloosa; his paternal grandparents, Louis and Nonna Madden of Topeka; Grandmother -in-law Dava Hughes, Grandmother -in-law, Roseanne Welch, Grandfather-in-law Dale Fischer, three nieces, Braxtyn, Koltyn and Ivory; three nephews, Benson, Montana and Casen- that he absolutely adored; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Louis will be at 1:30pm on Thursday, July 3 at the Marais des Cygnes Valley High School Gym in Melvern. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30pm on Wednesday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Inurnment will be in the Melvern Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Louis may be made to the Louis Madden Memorial Fund, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451, or left at the Lyndon State Bank in Melvern.
