Loretta D. Deskins, 78, of Bloomington, IN, formally of Melvern, Ks, passed away May 25,2016 at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington. She was born March 29, 1938 in Tonganoxie, Ks., the daughter of Frank Unfred and Ethel D.(Walker) Unfred.
She lived in the Lawrence, Ks. area until marrying Henry Frost in 1954 and having 5 children. They later divorced. She lived in Lecompton, then moved to Lawrence, raising her children. She worked at Bendix King in Lawrence for many years.
She married Gary Deskins after all her children were grown. Loretta and Gary eventually settled in Melvern, where they owned and operated the Sunflower Inn.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband Gary in 2009; two sons Randolph (Randy) and Douglas (Doug); a daughter JoAnna; and two brothers Martin and Terry Unfred.
She is survived by her son Henry Frost, Jr.; her daughter Darla Frost (Doug Heshelman), all of Bloomington; her two sisters Twila Higgins and Marsha Jenkins; her brother Bruce Unfred; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Loretta's life will be June 13, 2016 at Church of God in Melvern at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon,KS 66451.
