LYNDON
Lyndon - LoRee Nadine Williams, 92, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, surrounded by her family, at her home in Lyndon, Kansas. She was born on August 10, 1931, in Mayfield, Kansas, the daughter of Everett and Etrula Beryl (Heck) White.
LoRee had lived in many places, as her father was a minister and both parents were teachers. She moved to Lyndon in her junior year of high school. This was when she met Neil Williams, her future husband.
LoRee was united in marriage to Neil Williams on November 26, 1950, in Lyndon. To this union four children were born, Gary, Bruce, Kent, and Kim.
LoRee had worked in Topeka for John Morril and Company, and while living in Osage City, worked for Crable Funeral Home for several years. She then became the secretary to the superintendent and clerk of the school board for Osage City USD 420 until she retired.
LoRee loved her family and friends very much and was an avid game and card player. She also loved traveling with family and friends. She was always ready to help and enjoyed volunteering at HelpHouse and as an election board worker.
LoRee was preceded in death by her husband, Neil on December 19, 2013; by her son, Kent on February 15, 2003; and by a granddaughter, Lindsay on October 26, 1997.
LoRee is survived by her two sons, Gary (Martie) Williams of Lewisville, Texas and Bruce (Charna) Williams of Lyndon; her daughter, Kim Jenkins of Vassar; her two sisters, Beverly (Don) Snyder and Darlene (Bob) Hahn; nine grandchildren, Heather, Brian, Justin, Keri, Anna, Dana, Michael, Gary, and Kayla; multiple great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life for LoRee will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, March 23 at the Lyndon United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00pm on Friday, March 22nd, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel. Private family inurnment will be in the Lyndon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in memory of LoRee be made to Midland Hospice Care, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
