Burlingame - Lola Marlene (Kennedy) Dorr, 76, peacefully passed away, surrounded by family, on Friday, October 6, 2023, at her home in Burlingame, Kansas. She was born July 1, 1947, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph "Red" and Helen (Hanson) Kennedy.

Marlene grew up in Lyndon and graduated from Lyndon High School in 1965. She had lived in Burlingame for over 50 years.

Marlene worked as a bookkeeper for Lyle's Conoco and she cleaned houses. She was a Girl Scout leader for several years and she received a leadership award for her years of service. Marlene had a very creative side. She loved to crochet, knit, cross stitch, scrapbook, paint and ceramics. Her greatest passion was her grandkids. She loved to attend any activities they were involved in.

Marlene married Lyle "Bud" Dorr on July 14, 1965, in Miami, Oklahoma. To this union two children were born, John and Maurene.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Helen; and by her sister, Darlene Ballinger.

Marlene is survived by her husband Lyle of 58 years; her son, John (Carol) Dorr of Burlingame; her daughter, Maurene (TJ) Brake of Burlingame; her four beautiful grandkids, Dalton (Megan McKanna) Dorr, Ashton (Danen) Kistner, Dyllan (Shanelle) Brake and Jaelynn Brake.

Graveside memorial services for Marlene will be held at 10:00a.m on Friday, October 13, at the Osage City Cemetery. Memorial contributions for Marlene may be made to the Burlingame Rec Commission, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
