Lyndon--Leona Grace Warren, 101, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook, Kansas. She was born on May 4, 1916 in Hamilton, Kansas, the daughter of Eugene and Jessie Badsky Butterfield.
Leona had lived in Lyndon since 1960 and had been at Brookside since 2005.
Leona worked as a Sales Clerk at Pelletiers Department Store and Roach Hardware in Topeka and at McDaniel Hardware and Marv's Variety Store in Lyndon. She was a member of the Lyndon United Methodist Church and past member of the Fairfax HDU.
On May 26, 1934, Leona was married to Herbert Warren in Ottawa, Kansas. Herb preceded her in death on January 18, 2001.
Leona is survived by her three sons, Bennie (Betty) Warren of Lyndon, Darrell Warren of Vassar and Herbert (Loretta) Warren, Jr. of Overbrook; her seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Leona will be at 11:00am on Friday, December 8 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Lyndon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Lyndon United Methodist Church, sent in care of the funeral home.
