OSAGE CITY - Leona Mabel Lamond, 93, of Osage City, departed this life, Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Osage Nursing Center in Osage City, Kansas. She was born June 12, 1927 in Arcadia, California, the daughter of William and Mabel (Hoffman) Bishop.

Leona spent most of her life in Osage City and graduated from Osage City High School in 1945. In addition to the work on the family farm, she worked at the Gamba Brothers Grocery Store in Osage City. Later, she worked at Hallmark Cards for over eighteen years. Leona was a member of The American Legion Woman's Auxiliary Post #198 in Osage City and she attended Countryside Baptist Church in Osage City.

On March 24, 1947 in Osage City, Leona was united in marriage to Duane Fred Lamond. They shared over sixty-three years of marriage before Duane passed away. To this union they shared four children, Roy, Ray, Rita and Ronda.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband Duane on June 25, 2010; her son, Ray Lamond, son-in-law Dean Croucher, parents, and two brothers, Verl Bishop and Wilmer Bishop.

Leona is survived by three children; Roy Lamond (Karen) of Osage City, Kansas; Rita Croucher of Osage City, Kansas; Ronda Anderson (Brian) of Lenexa, Kansas; two brothers, Bill Bishop of Caldwell, Idaho and Elmer Bishop of  Loveland, Colorado; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Leona will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Lyndon Cemetery. Leona will lie in state from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon, the family will not be present.
