Leona Evelyn Burgess' Obituary
Leona E. Burgess, 83, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014, in Topeka after a short illness.
She was born January 14, 1931, in Topeka, Ks., th edaughter of William and Barbara (Kuykendall) Massey. She was a 1949 graduate of Seaman High School. She worked at Brookside Manor in Overbrook for many years. she also was a fan of Patsy Cline.
She married Robert Burgess in 1955 in Topeka. They moved to Lawrence for a few years before moving to Scranton over 55years ago.
Leona is preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her husband Robert Burgess of the home; four daughters Nancy Morgan, Patty Canuk, Judy Mundy, Cathy Burgess; two brothers Herb and Fred Massey; one sister Alice McMaster; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A visitation with family and friends is planned for 2:00p.m. Saturday January 3,2015 at Feltner Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc. and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home 818 Topeka Ave. Lyndon, Kansas 66451.
