Lyndon--Leitha Farwell, 82, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Osage Nursing Center in Osage City, Kansas. She was born on May 13, 1936 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Wilbur and Clara Tunis Light.
Leitha grew up in Dunlap, IL. lived in Peoria, IL., Topeka and Lyndon. The last four years she has wintered in Venice, FL. and summered in Lyndon.
Leitha had worked for U.P.S. in Ottawa for 24 years in the accounting department, she then worked for Neosho County Community College in Ottawa. She was a member of the Lakeside Lutheran Church in Florida and the Lutheran Women's Guild.
On January 22, 1955, Leitha was united in marriage to Ronald G. Farwell in Peoria, Illinois.
Leitha was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, on March 17, 2014; and by her parents, Wilbur and Clara; and by her younger sister and brother, Carole and Billy.
Leitha is survived by her five children, Ronald K. Farwell of Venice, Florida, Robert Farwell of Lyndon, Michael Farwell of Lawrence, Laurie Bunker of Osage City and Letha Farwell of Overland Park; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
Funeral services for Leitha will be held at 10:30a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
