Obituary

Vassar--Larry Dean Bauerle, Sr., 80, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on January 21, 1940 in Holton, Kansas, the adopted son of Roy and Dolly (Murphy) Bauerle.
Larry had lived in Topeka and had been coming to Pomona Lake since 1985. In 1994 he moved to Vassar, where he has lived since.
Larry served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963. He had worked a truck driver and had worked for Rosen's near Pomona Lake. He was a member of the Appanoose Baptist Church north of Pomona.
On November 29, 1958, Larry was united in marriage to Norma Jean Anderson in Holton, Kansas. To this union, two sons were born, David and Larry, Jr.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Dolly; by his son, David Bauerle on December 17, 2019; by his two brothers, Dareld and Harold Lacey; and by his two sisters, Daisy Lacey and Marilyn Haire.
Larry is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Bauerle of 62 years; his son, Larry Bauerle, Jr. and wife Lori of Hutchinson; his daughter-in-law, Tammy Bauerle of Topeka; his three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Larry's family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, January 23 at the Appanoose Baptist Church at 1:00pm. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00pm on Friday, January 22 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Inurnment will be in Vassar Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Larry may be made to the Appanoose Baptist Church, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
