Kenny had grown up in Abilene and then Greenwood community near Pomona and had lived in Carbondale since 1965.
Kenny graduated from Pomona High School in 1956 and served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1959, having served on the USS Ticonderoga. He worked for Goodyear Tire Company for five years then started work for BRB Contractors. He was a truck driver and then a heavy equipment operator. He became a manager and job superintendent until his retirement in 2003.
On June 2, 1957, Kenny was united in marriage to Bessie Pruett in Ottawa. To this union two children were born, Rex and Joy.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Esther; and a sister, Norma Newkirk.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Bessie of 64 years; his two children, Rex (Sandy) Sleichter of Carbondale and Joy (Ferlan) Brandenburg of Scranton; his sister, Carol DeMaranville of Pomona; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Kenny will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 19 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Inurnment will be in the Carbondale Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the
