Vassar - Kathryn Sue Allen, 71, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at the St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on October 4, 1949 in Bessemer, Alabama, the daughter of Charles and Viola (Harner) Doritty.
Kathy had lived in Colorado from 1979 to 1990, when she moved to Osage County, Kansas. She has lived near Vassar for the last several years.
Kathy had worked as a legal secretary for many years and was the owner/operator of Lyndon Floral for 10 years. She was a member of the Vassar United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society and was a lover of anything with four legs or wings.
On June 19, 1992, Kathy was married to William Allen in Lyndon.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Viola; and her two sisters, Carol and Dot.
Kathy is survived by her husband Bill of 29 years; her four children, Norm Parker of Topeka, Andrea Schattak of Melvern, Curt Allen of Melvern and Cristie Frye of Olivet; her three brothers, Richard Dorrity of Sunbury, Ohio, Bob Doritty of Albion, Pennsylvania and Jim Doritty of the Carolina's; her sister, Margaret Pierce of Erie, Pennsylvania; her best friend, Molly McAdoo and her three daughters, Christina Eby, Erica DeScipio and Susan Zuschlag; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Kathy will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 25 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to service time Saturday. Memorial contributions in memory of Kathy may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
